Frameless windows

I have looked at several TT's that have frameless windows. Does anyone know how they are sealed and if they are prone to leak more or less than traditional rubber gasket end windows? Just wondering....
Thanks.:h

  • If no answers in a couple of weeks I should be able to answer most questions since my next trailer has the frameless windows.
  • The frameless windows I've seen are bonded, just like automotive glass is. I've seen a few brands but Hehr seems to be common and Kino. One thing I noticed is they seem to open less then sliding windows or typical joulouise windows.
  • Biggest question I have about them is if they are susceptible to chipping from stones or other debris that may get kicked up by the TV. No frame, so the glass edge is exposed to whatever may come flying up.
  • How will you get the bugs and dirt that pound in on the leading edge just under the glass? I prefer the look of a good solid frame that looks good. It's not if they leak when new but how well they hold up over the years.
  • Thanks. I just wonder how secure they are also, and how they are set in the frames.
  • We camped next to some folks with a v-nose with the frameless windows a couple of weeks ago. I wondered the same thing. We never got around to asking them about that. One thing they did mention is that they can go off for the day and leave the windows open and not worry about the rain coming in. It did have a nice, clean look to it, but I'm not sure I'd trust it. Also, security-wise, I think having a frame makes it a bit tougher to get in than no frame.
