WAIT A MINUTE....
I've read thread after thread on RV.net that the cost of maintenance on a diesel engine isn't more expensive than it is for a gas engine. How is it possible that I am reading prices of almost $400 for a dealer oil change and even $118 for a DIY oil change every 10K miles?
For right now, the new 6.7 Cummins is going to be higher because the fuel filters have not been released to the aftermarket yet. Do you want me to show what I pay for my 2005 Cummins? $5 for the oil filter and $10 for the fuel. I run a K&N air.;) - spoon059Explorer IIIWAIT A MINUTE....

Lots of information over on the Cummins Forum about those Napa filters. Think I would ditch them ASAP and get something approved for your engine. That is a little money saved to take a chance on a voided warranty.
Dude, I have hundreds of thousands of miles on nothing but Napa filters and Conoco (recycled) oil with zero failures or problems. If you want to send more money for nothing be my guest. - 6_7_tow_rigExplorerLots of information over on the Cummins Forum about those Napa filters. genosgarage.com great place to buy. They know RAM/Cummins.
FleetGuard Stratapore oil filter $13.95
FleetGuard Air filter $27.95
Raycor fuel/water separator $54.95
Mopar NanoNet 3 micron $60.95
So for all the filters above $157.80 plus the oil of your choice = dirt cheap every 15K for a 13 and newer RAM.
All are OE filters mentioned above. They are painted and labeled Mopar at the dealer.
I get my air filter from Napa for $18
my oil filter from Napa (Platinum) $8
My water separator at the rear from Napa $32
My engine fuel/H2O separator from dealer (for now) for $60
That's $118 for filters for me. I do change mine every 10,000/yr though. I idle my truck a lot for the puppies. - 45RicochetExplorer

Nice try El Capitan...
Perhaps the real reason was to reduce the number of injectors failures including the ones on the 5.9 that lacked good filtration.
Let me know if you need to see the video again! :W
Actually your right on both accounts, I don't waste my time watching your links since they have proven to be useless IMO. Just pro ford or negative Ram.
Secondly yes the 5.9 injectors have had cracking issues on some. Again I point proper care for these. The OEM's were upgraded upon failure IIRC to a new Bosch design. Yes expensive fix if your over the 100K mile mark.
Personally I run an additive since new because of the ULSD change over when we bought the truck. Didn't trust it from the get go, too dry. We use this stuff
I suppose you have a problem with that to though :W
Anyway still OEM injectors after almost 10 years now!
Bottom line is we all don't service our vehicles like your next door neighbor, who does nothing but fill and go :B - wanderingbobExplorer IIGRIT DOG , You said if I lived closer that you would change them for me ,You are in Alaska, I am in Florida ,What say that I meet ya half way , maybe Montana or Utah ?

RAMs from 2013 onward have 2 fuel filters. A 10 micron fuel/water separator. Then a 5/3 micron (2 filtering elements) engine filter that also separates water. Probably the best OEM setup of all the trucks right now with 2 water filtering membranes and 2 WIF sensors. Just changed mine today as well. The filters are about 110 to 120 dollars for both in a kit.
I suppose Ram must have read Ricatic's problem child filter problem. :B
Sounds like a nice setup.

I don't know about injector issues on the 5.9L. Mine had over 5000 hours and still had all 6 original injectors in it.
The fuel filter's on the 5.9's was improved to improve injector life. I believe the '13 and up was another improvement.
Injectors are kind of a hit and miss problem... My 05 6.0 PSD had all original injectors with 170k miles and ~ 4000k hours. Our previous 5.9 cummins work truck had 4 injectors go bad by ~ 120k miles. My BIL 07 5.9 still has all original injectors.- ib516Explorer II
