Shop around for best price. I usually get 3+ years out of it. You can buy the hose without the reel and save a few bucks. The convienice far exceeds the annoyance of replacing it once every three years. Important: to extend the life of it - do NOT drag it across the ground. When reeling it up, dont drag it - just walk around with the reel and pick it up. If you need to move it - pick it up. It will last a lot longer. And make sure you put the pressure regulator between the faucet and the hose - not between the hose and the camper.
There are a lot of people who say they are terrible. That has not been my experience. YMMV
