My Forest River Micro Lite 23LB has an external port for winterizing (adding anti-freeze) which uses the onboard water pump. There is a valve setting on the water pump that lets me switch from "normal" operation to "winterizing" operation. (Normal draws water from the tank; winterizing draws anti-freeze through that external port.)There is nothing in any of my manuals about this.Can I use this winterizing setting to use the pump to fill my water tank if I attach a full 5-gallon aqua-tainer, or some such thing, to the anti-freeze port?It seems that I should be able to do this.-Speak

Yes. There have been a number of posts by people who do not have an outside fill tube doing just what you say. Fortunately, I do have an outside fill tube.

My pump sucks the antifreeze through the system but does not suck it to the fresh water tank.

I use a funnel that I put in the outside fresh water fill and then just dump the jug into the tank. The point of that hose and valve is so u would not have to add plumbing antifreeze directly into your water tank instead it sucks from the antifreeze jug and into your water lines and out the faucets.Hope that helps

This is my basic setup for the water system in my 2004 5th wheel trailer. My 2008 OFF-ROAD POPUP is very similar except only has one sink and no shower or toilet connections and no gray or black water tank. I have to capture my own gray water and tote away in the popup.My anifreeze hose is placed between the fresh water tank and the water pump. It is actually just a few inches away from the intake side of the water pump. Having the value located here selects either water coming from the fresh water tank or coming from the antifreeze hose.With my system I cannot use the water pump to fill my fresh water tank. I have to manually fill it at the manual fill port...Roy Ken

It will suck the water from your jug but it will not pump it into your water tank only into your water lines and out the faucets. I use a funnel that I put in the outside fresh water fill and then just dump the jug into the tank.
