Fresh Water Tank Left Open or Closed?

I think I've figure out how I want to take care of my winterization process with everyone's input for the last 2 years now. I've emptied my fresh water tank and left it open the past week to ensure it is empty. Now do I leave it open, or close it?? :W
What say you?
  • I leave mine closed after draining it good. After pouring antifreeze into the traps, I add another quart or so to protect the valve. Hopefully most of that quart makes it into the pipe to reach the valve and doesn't just sit in the bottom of the tank.
  • What for? There's always gonna be a little bit of water in the tank. Lots of room to expand. The drain etc. is pex and is very resistant to damage from freezing.

My drain is a little plastic faucet that looks like it would be easy to damage.:h
  • Closed. I bought a 5th a few years ago and the previous owner had left the fresh water valve open and I had to clean out the mud dauber nest to drain the tank after filling it.
