My pump supply is also on the side of the tank. It is about 3" above the bottom of the tank. I have almost 20 gallons left in a 46 gallon tank when pump sucks air...crazy! Of course I want to do this mod. So my question to 4jeeperz, choochooman74, and any others who have done it, is have you had any problems with sucking sediment into your pump. I do have a screen type filter on my pump.
