A dirty filter screen in the pump will greatly reduce the amount of lift that the pump has. I have had this happen on our trailer a few times. It was a simple fix to unscrew filter bowl and clean the screen. I would check it out before making any plumbing changes.
But will it cause it to sputter air at the faucet as if the tanks were empty?
