Fridge Isn't working, Anyone help? :(

HI!So, I have a 1991 Terry Resort 26B.

I'm having fridge issues... I haven't used it in about 5 years... But started to again.

My Fridge never worked on electric, I never tried to fix it either... But now it won't even work on gas... But I also don't have a battery hooked up, but I do have 120AC hooked up...

It seems the fridge lights but doesn't get cold... The back of it is fairly warm but not hot.

I guess my question is, does it NEED a battery for the fridge to work or do i have a crapped out fridge and need a new one?
  • Hi If you open the freezer, do you notice a revolting odour? If so, that could mean the 3gas refrigerant is leaking out of the coil. The tubes usually leak in the area where the coil tubes go through the back wall into the freezer due to condensation buildup. if the back of the fridge is getting warm from the burner but not cooling inside this is likely your issue.

    Old-Biscuit, I have a Dometic s619-007.

    That's a Servel Silhouette 120V/LP fridge.

HERE is a service manual for that model of fridge.

Need to do a thorough cleaning.....including the flue.

Flame needs to not only be strong steady but correct height and flue baffle needs to be clean and in correct position to properly transfer the heat

Electric........probably bad heating element. 300W Providing it's getting 120V AC power and fuse is good
  • Your vintage of trailer's converter needs a battery to act as load for it to provide stable DC power.

Your fridge needs steady DC voltage.

    What fridge.brand/model?

NOT being used for 5 yrs........needs a good cleaning. Burner area, electric connectors etc.
  • Hmm, It's Centre 0 Front to back. it's In-between 0 & 1 side to side, Would this cause the issue? It's not terribly off level.
  • Yes you need a battery to power the logic board on the fridge regardless if running on propane or 120 volts.
