- old_guyExplorerI used to keep my beer in it for over twenty years. frig never quit once always ran good.
- Nope... ;) I've got my beer fridge in the garage that is not a full size kitchen fridge, but a lot bigger than my 2 door RV fridge.. ;)
I don't want to go out to my trailer to get stuff out of the fridge when I can go into my garage.. Besides, I cover my trailer during the winter, so it's not an option anyway..
But, if it works for you, that's great and that's all that counts.
Also, my RV fridge is a Dometic that had the recall notice on it, but I didn't do the recall because it didn't fix the issue.. Just made it so that when the pipe breaks, it diverts the leaking liquid away from the flame, but also caused the fridge to not work as well...
So, I just don't use it on electric anymore and that's what works for me..
Good luck!

I'm sure you mean "converter", not inverter ... regardless, hardly a reason to not run your fridge 24 / 7 if doing so serves a useful purpose for you. Personally, I don't but it has nothing to do with the longevity of the fridge or converter but simply because I'd rather avoid the cost of running the fridge continuously when in our case we have no need for it. However, if running the fridge continuously while the trailer is parked at your home presumes you're running it on 120 vac rather than gas (which logically you would) raises a much greater concern in my mind ... power stability. Unfortunately the reality is that only a small percentage of RV owners properly protect their rigs against power line anomalies, particularly surges, spikes, and especially low voltage, with a surge protector / EMS of one flavour or another. Not doing so is IMO a huge mistake, one that could eventually prove costly ... and hardly worth the risk simply because you want to run the fridge 24 / 7. I have equipped my own trailer with a Progressive Industries EMS-HW30C and wouldn't ever consider plugging in anywhere without it, even at home. Food for thought. ;) - willi4ndExplorerWouldnt keeping your rig plugged into shore power 24/7/365 shorten the life of your inverter since it will be running the entire time?
- tvman44ExplorerOurs pretty much stays on 24/7/365. :)
- korbeExplorerNot us. We don't need any additional frig space while home.
- CavemanCharlieExplorer IIII do it sometimes . It will need to be defrosted once and awhile.
- corvettekentExplorerWhen the power goes out at our house we use the RV fridge.
- AmericalVetteExplorerNo problem! I've done it for years with every rig I've owned and find it's a good place for a cold beverage when I'm out working around my place.
- lgarciaExplorerSure, we do it all the time. Mostly extra pop and things we don't use every day.
