I have had the same thing happen as the OP. I started the fridge one day to cool it off. Went there the next morning to load up and the battery was dead. My wife had bought a dusk till dawn night light that plugs into a 110v outlet. Would the on board inverter be trying to power this light off of the battery also?
If the inverter was turned on, and the light and fridge were both turned on, and the fridge set to run on elec, then yes the inverter was trying to run both.
If however, you meant to say Converter instead of Inverter, then NO the converter would not be trying to power the light off of the battery but would be powering it off the converter itself. This is assuming your rig was plugged into a 110 outlet. If not plugged in then the Converter would not be operating at all, the fridge would be running on propane, and the light would not work.
Your whole question depends on whether your rig has a
converter like most rigs have, or an
inverter that is usually added as an extra or done by the owner. Converters change (or convert) 110v to 12v. Inverters change 12v to 110v. Anything that plugs into a 110v outlet will not work unless the rig is plugged into shore power or the rig has an inverter. It is not normal for most travel trailers to have an inverter.
