I have yet to personally know anyone to wear out a vehicle based on the engine, its the rest of the vehicle around the engine that falls apart long before the engine, whether it be diesel or gas.
x2 Put a couple hundred thousand miles on a pickup and I am ready for a new one regardless of what kind of fuel the engine uses. (Yes, I know there are exceptions)
