I haven't seen snow in eleven years and have purchased six new trucks in that time, so rust hasn't got much to do with my situation. I do remember the 60's and 70's when they rusted out five years before they wore out.
Aint that the truth. I think every truck my dad had was a "Flintstones" model before the engine gave out. Grew up in N IL.
I agree though, 200k mi is not uncommon out of any of today's gas engines, but I got buddies in IL who's tailgates are rusting out thier Expeditions and F150s and Dodges bubbling rust around the fenders before 10 years old!
