Pulling power is no issue with the 5.7 gas motor and my 7500lb trailer. I would love a diesel, but as I mentioned in my original post, I can't justify a diesel for many reasons:
1. initial cost ($8k buys a lot of gas)
2. I only pull ~7500lbs ~10 times a year
3. it is also my daily driver ~70 miles a day round trip (diesel is $.50-.75 more/gal than gas)
4. dealing with diesel in the cold northeast winters just plain sucks
now all of that being said, If I found one within my price range I would buy it just for the exhaust brake alone, but not for 6-8k more.
I'm in the same boat, I could not justify the price difference for mine so I went with the gas. Having towed my TT twice, no regrets.
