I have a 12 Ram 2500 CTD. I tow about 4-5000 a year. The rest (6000)is 75-25 in town. I've had zero issue with the DPF clogging. I always run the EB too. The DD miles you would do would be way better than I do.
Not sure how much payload you're looking for but 2500 CTD Rams are in the 2100lb range. Upside is the RAWR of 6000-6200lbs over the Tundras 4150lbs.
JMO but it will cost you more to DD that CTD over a gasser. Pre DEF Rams only get around 3-3500 miles between oil changes. Diesel is running on average .75 more than gas. My Ram gets 17+ @65mph. Same as a gasser. If I wasn't retired I don't think I could afford to drive my Ram CTD for work. If you're in a position to do it though, it would be well worth when you tow.
