And also on a side note, the shifter on the floor is still shift on the fly. It also has less stuff that can go wrong with it. I actually prefer the manual 4X4 shift in my 2005 Ram over the electric shift in my 2013. It take no effort to put it into 4wd. Just slide the shifter forward and you are in 4wd at any speed. ;)
Mowin, I'm like you. The only time I lift my center console in my 2005 is to get at the storage under the center seat. As far as the back seat goes, I always drive so as long as I am comfy and the wife is comfy then everyone else is on their own.LOL! My 2013 has bucket seats with full floor mounted console.
