I wouldn't worry about the hiccup, it has a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty on the power train. That said, only you can decide which one you like best, and which will suit your needs better.
I have been very satisfied with mine, and do not at all regret the switch from diesel to gas power.
thanks lb516, I tend to agree about the warranty, I'm more worried if the anti spin diff will be the deal breaker at this point, and if the Ram actually has traction control standard? Is it included in electronic stability control? and if id DOES have traction control is that good enough for my needs or should I look for a truck that has the anti spin diff option out of the gate?
Mine has the anti-spin, and it seems to work quite well here on our now icy roads.
The Stability control has saved me a time or two as well, once when we had a wicked storm and a branch blew off a tree onto the road in front of me and I had to take evasive action at 50 mph to avoid it.
The traction control is wrapped in with the stability control. It will also kick in if your rear wheels are spinning from a stop, but I haven't messed around enough to know if it will brake an individual spinning rear wheel to transfer power to the other - like traction control typically does. It does reduce wheel spin and cut engine power once you start to spin the rear tires in 2wd.
