I have the Curt hitch and a TMS motorcycle carrier. I carry a Yamaha Riva 180 on the front, and it's about 350# with the rack. This is on a 04 Ram 2500.
I had to weld a drop into the carrier to lower it. Stock height had it blocking my view, headlights and radiator. In fact, it blocked enough airflow to set a fan clutch code.
Dropping it down four inches got the seat below the hood and put the open part squarely in front of the grill. It also exposed my lights and signals.
350# is all I'd want to put up there, especially since I changed the torque angle by dropping it down. It will bottom out when going through dips or pulling into parking lots when empty. Having the fifth wheel hooked balances it out and it rides pretty well.
