Front hitch weight capacity?
I have an aluminum tool box mounted on a front hitch on an F350. Do you think it is OK to put 275 pounds in the tool box? I was wondering what the weight limits are for the front hitch. Thanks

That 1 ton Chevy sure does have a low front axle rating.
My trucks front axle rating is 5940lbs.
I have a Curt front hitch that is rated 500lbs tongue, 5000lbs trailer.
My front basket is rated to 500lbs.
I carry a 2000 Honda, 6 gallons of water and 5 gallons of gas. Counting the basket weight, that is about 200lbs.
My front axle weight with the basket full, camper on and 4500lb boat in tow is 4550lbs, that gives me 1390lbs of front axle capacity left over.
