Fuel mileage 2009 F-450 6.4L
I average 9.3 mpg empty regardless of speed and towing 15,000 lbs it gets 4.5 mpg. HD(?) 16,500 GVW 4.88 gears. Is this normal?

I never knew mine to drop speed during regen. Wonder if that’s a cab and chassis thing? MPG dropped a lot during regen though. Noticeably so.
The erratic regen behavior on mine was what made me decide to get rid of it. I loved everything else about the truck. Before I sold it, it had started displaying the message “Drive To Clean Exhaust Filter” instead of “Cleaning Exhaust Filter”, even though I’d be driving all day at highway speeds. Normally, you shouldn’t see the “Drive To Clean....” message unless you were doing a lot of idling, or stationary PTO operation.
