James, How many miles on your diesel? Ours is still new and getting around 12.5 @ 65-70 with a fully loaded AF996. I hear that they improve on mileage as they age, hope I heard right!
The difference between 60 MPH and 65-70 MPH could explain the difference between 12.5 and 14 mpg.
To the OP, on a 4,443 mile trip, I averaged 14 MPG at 60-65 MPH
PS: CAJW, I had around 18,000 on the truck at the end of the trip
I agree on a litte more speed while loaded being a mpg killer. I've since backed it down and hope to see a little improvement.
Kerry - totally agree, we're hauling a beast of a rig, getting better than 12 is fairly decent in my book.
