Fuel Question... diesel and gas
I have a serious question about fuel. Call it inexperience with diesel...
Why is gasoline 'cleaner' than Diesel? What I mean is fuel quality. I seem to hear a lot more about bad diesel than bad gas.
Is there more regulations on Gasoline and its refinement?
Is it just the natural oily properties of the Diesel fuel itself?
I change the fuel filters on my Gasoline vehicles at regular intervals but most people I mention this to just kind of stare at me with that puzzled look... I really think that Most people DO NOT change fuel filters on gas cars and trucks at regular intervals. (I would say members on this forum are a bit more prudent)
However, if you talk to a diesel owner... especially an experienced owner... they will be quick to tell you about the fuel filter and how often to change it ect.
So, what is it that makes gas cleaner and diesel dirtier?
NOTE: This is not a discussion about which one is better. They are both great.
Thanks!
Jeremiah
