Full body paint
Looking for my next trailer. Came across one I like with the option for full body paint. It isn't cheap. Pros and cons welcome.

Dog, here is my HO.
I did auto body for many years so this is where my opinion comes from.
#1. Gel coats hold up really well.
#2. Paints don't hold up as well under the same conditions.
#3. UV is VERY expensive whether in paints or stickers.
#4. When paint is gone, it's gone; you have to strip and repaint.
#5. There is a world of difference in paint just like stickers. My 10 YO Arctic Fox stickers look like I put them on yesterday. The stickers on my camper shell were junk in 3 years! Same conditions.
#6. You can't tell the difference in good quality paint or stickers and junk. They all look the same up to about a year or two.
#7. Top of the line clear will cost about $700 a gallon. A small car will take about a gallon to paint so you can imagine what a full size trailer will cost.
#8. It's very difficult to paint anything big like an RV or airplane and make it come out really good. An acceptable to nice paint job on an airplane would look like cr@p and be rejected on a car.
#9. It takes a LOT of work to keep a paint job looking nice unless it's black boxed all of it's life.
#10. I would never do this but if you do, buy the best materials on the market. Not just what you can afford but the very best.
