Full body paint
Looking for my next trailer. Came across one I like with the option for full body paint.
It isn't cheap.

but you must agree that we who pay cash for these toys are in the vast minority. I would guess that 70% or more are financed.
bumpy- You may wish to shop around for body shops in your area that would take on this job. Since the trailer will be new, there won't be extensive prep work to fix surface irregularities.
FWIW, I painted my trailer with an airless sprayer. It is aluminum sided. The paint is pretty much just like the day I painted it, six years ago. I didn't have any decals, just accent stripes. If you wish to have an automotive style paint job, the pros use HVLP guns and will get it right. Bumpyroad wrote:

Actually I did finance thru my CU on the last one just to get it home. Since I bought 2500 miles from home, having the CU take care of everything with the dealer made sure that it would go smooth. They handled everything, the sales tax differences between states, the tags etc. I highly recommend this method. I paid off the loan as soon as I got home.

bumpy- Oh, sorry Dog. I thought you were going to do a paint over gel coat.
- Any pictures of this? Is it solid colors or does it still have graphics? I don't care for all the graphics that units come with.
- Guess I consider myself lucky. The 2014 Outback TT we bought in September 2013 was one of 5 prototypes Keystone sent around the country to guage what buyers thought of the new color schemes they were going to roll out at the Hershey RV show in Sept. 2013. Ours has the black cap and cream colored sides. Entire TT is painted except the decals were applied over the paint so technically not full body paint I guess.
We get compliments ALL the time from campers on the shine and beauty. In fact, an RV dealer damaged some areas on the front cap this past spring and they had a body shop repaint and reclear part of the front cap this fall at no charge. When I went to body shop the owner thought it was brand new but we have used it for 4 1/2 years and we use it ALOT.
FBP is well worth it if you ask me. - For any unit over 50k I'd definitely pay the extra 10k for full body paint.

I did auto body for many years so this is where my opinion comes from.
#1. Gel coats hold up really well.
#2. Paints don't hold up as well under the same conditions.
#3. UV is VERY expensive whether in paints or stickers.
#4. When paint is gone, it's gone; you have to strip and repaint.
#5. There is a world of difference in paint just like stickers. My 10 YO Arctic Fox stickers look like I put them on yesterday. The stickers on my camper shell were junk in 3 years! Same conditions.I agree. My 2001 Fleetwood stickers looked good when I sold it 10 years later. My Sabre stickers were trash in about 3 years. Same location. Sabre DID put some $$$ into the frame and running gear, so I guess it was an acceptable tradeoff for this TT.
#6. You can't tell the difference in good quality paint or stickers and junk. They all look the same up to about a year or two.
#7. Top of the line clear will cost about $700 a gallon. A small car will take about a gallon to paint so you can imagine what a full size trailer will cost.
#8. It's very difficult to paint anything big like an RV or airplane and make it come out really good. An acceptable to nice paint job on an airplane would look like cr@p and be rejected on a car.
#9. It takes a LOT of work to keep a paint job looking nice unless it's black boxed all of it's life.
#10. I would never do this but if you do, buy the best materials on the market. Not just what you can afford but the very best.
