That's about what I thought. For 10K, I could have an auto detailer on call for a long time. There are sealants and waxes out there that really protect against UV, if storing outside. Also, the dreaded covers.
I've been away from fiberglass and the "boat world" for a good many years but I've seen both ends of care and maintenance. Some boats look like new after many years.

10K.. Id love to have that in the bank for camping this spring. :)

We looked at a 2016 Cardinal last year with the full body paint and it was beautiful until we got close and all you could was swirl marks in the paint. Dealer said in was normal, it looked like someone got carried away with a buffer and a dirty bonnet.

Reminds me of my dad getting plastic seat covers on a 1955 Mercury. When he traded it in five years later it was the classic 50's vintage rust bucket. But hey, when he took those plastics covers off those seats, they really looked good. :)

Other than pride of ownership I do not see much reason for it.

Somewhere I have read that some people remove all of the decals when it is new and the decals are (almost) easy to remove. Then it is just paint, probably all white.

FBP is a more durable finish than just gelcoat. How much you're willing to pay for that is the decision maker. I'd bet it isn't a cheap upgrade.
