The power is nice with better mileage to boot. The new trucks are just so much more capable and enjoyable to drive. The 06 dodge/ram chipped to 365 hp did a great job for 9 years but the 2015 gmc 3500 dmax is light years ahead pulling the same 15k fiver.
It feels light years because it has a couple more gears to choose from and it is a lot quieter cab and refined suspension and drive train. It's not because it has more power. Ask My FIL. He had a new 2013 D-max/Alley that he tows his 5th wheel/boat combo behind me and I used my 2005 Ram on a trip and he was mad because he still couldn't stay with me on some of the back road hills around here and I'm towing about 4-5,000# more than he is. Don't get me wrong, his truck was a lot quieter and more comfortable but the power is still power when you can put it on the ground. All I'm saying is that the trucks now days have more than enough power to do the job, the big three need to get into a competition on who can come up with the best and most useful options and accessories. The biggest problem I see is that people want to be able to hook up to a 20,000# trailer and run side by side with and SUV running solo. It's not going to happen and do it safely.
Yes it would be fun but what's the point on the hiway
