We do like posted above... One Battery One night when camping off-grid....
Need to add some additional batteries...
My camping plan is designed to run all of these things during the one day and night and not deplete my battery bank below its 50% charge state. Then the next morning during breakfast I will run my 2KW Generator with the converter/charger connected for three hours run time to bring my 50% charge state back up to its 90% charge state and this will allow me to do the day/night thing all over again without doing damage to my batteries... My battery bank will produce almost full performance starting at 90% charge state... If I just make small charge runs then my battery bank will start dropping down to the 50% charge state quicker and quicker. I won't start using the batteries unless they are at their at least 90% charge state each day...
Been doing this since around 2009 and my older batteries lasted until 2015 before starting not to hold their charge like before... Just recently started building up a new battery bank consisting of two groups of GC2 6V batteries in series all mounted in a nice metal box on the tongue of my off-road trailer. The battery box comes with two small solar panels mounted on each side of the slide off panel. This should give some trickle charge during the high sun days... I reall want to add a couple of 120WATT Solar panels to this to use during the high sun days after I run my 2KW Generator each to get past the very high DC Current period when my setup first hits the 50% depleted batteries with the initial 14.4VDC SMART Charge voltage. I would want to run my 2KW Generator for the first hour charge cycle period and then allow the 120WATT SOLAR PANELS to complete the recharge for the rest of the day to get to the 90% charge state before the high sun goes away...
My planning at any rate hehe...
My new battery bank will look like this but will have a second small solar panel on the right side as well...
