furnace not heating well

Hello. I have a 2016 travel trailer, 28' with a 30,000 BTU furnace. Can anyone tell me if it is normal for the furnace to take several hours to reach a comfortable temperature. It took our heater over 4 hours to reach 70 degrees from 50. It is only warming up about 5 degrees per hour. Is this normal for such a small area? Thank you.

  • How cold was it outside? 50 deg? We have two furnaces in our 40' MH and it would have taken 30 minutes at the most.

  • No it is not normal. You should have good airflow out each floor vent. I bet you have a air loss from the vents. Probably one loose somewhere. 30,000 BTU should raise the temperature in your relatively small trailer to comfortable levels in much less time. Especially with a 50 degree ambient outside temperature.
