The fuse in the truck (fuse 47 in the fuse box) that control the trailer right side turn signal keeps blowing. I have replaced the fuse 3 times. What is causing this? It is a 15 amp fuse, If i put a bigger amp fuse will that help. No other electrical problems. I did replace both batteries , went from 750 amps to two 800 amp batteries.
Pretty cut and dry, you have a short.
Putting a bigger fuse will ultimately fix your problem by forcing you to buy a NEW TRUCK when the wiring burns up and ignites anything flammable..
Does the fuse only blow when the trailer is connected?
If so then you have a short on the trailer side. Look for chaffed wires, damaged wires on the pigtail plug.
Does the fuse blow even when the trailer IS NOT connected?
If so then you have a short on the vehicle side (pinched wire in the harness)..
What ever you do, never, ever increase the fuse size. The fuse size has been selected to blow BEFORE any wiring damage will occur protecting the wire and ultimately your truck and yourself..
