Is this engine life a life under load?
That is what I heard when I saw the video.
I have a question for the cummins fan club. What is the validated engine life of a cummins and please provide some type of documentation and not a guess or that you know of one that has gone over 500,000 miles.
Cummins uses B10 and B50 life expectancies. B10 means that 10% of the engines produced will need an overhaul at X mileage an B50 means 50% will need an overhaul at X mileage. Generally the engines used in severe duty will fall in the B10 ranges and those used in less severe duty applications will fall into the B50 category. Most pickup truck Cummins owners will probably fall above these life expectancies.
For the 6.7L Cummins, B10 life is 250k and B50 life is 350k. Keep in mind that this includes all 6.7L engines in those percentagees even those used in medium duty applications.
