Gas storage for Generators

Hey guys, been reading and learning a lot here. Thank you all for your time in helping others.
I've been screaching and haven't found anything related to gas storage. TC are small as it is and it always seems like there's one more thing and no where to put it out of the way.
My question is has anyone used a jerry can or Rotopax ect... for the back of the camper? We take the camper on the beach surfishing and with all the coolers and fishing gear a portable gas tank would be nice to have as long as it's out of the way. Any ideas and/or pictures would be great as I have a couple ideas but don't want to do anything that might be hazardous. Thanks

    I mounted a couple of 2 gallon RotoPax to the bumper of my Fox Landing.

    I carry two jerry cans on the back of my camper. The 20 liter can is diesel for the truck, and the 5 liter can is gasoline for the generator. I like these because they aren't CARB cans.

    What ever you decide to do make sure you use quality cans. Such as the NATO Jerry cans in NRALIFR's picture or the SCEPTER cans the military uses now.

    A couple Outfitter owners have mounted can carriers to their rear wall and carry fuel that way. I stick the can(s) in my trailer or if no trailer then inside the camper. My SCEPTER and Jerry cans DO NOT leak even a whiff of fumes, so I have no qualms about doing so.

    I use two 5L cans. They fit in my generator compartment nicely.
    And I have two 20L can mounts on the back of my TC as well.

    20 lb propane bottle on the floor in the back of the cab, tied down with a seat-belt.

    Thanks for the replys everybody. My generator compartment is only big enough for the gen.. My bumper area is not really a bumper and I also have rod holders back there so space is very limited. I would post a picture but having trouble figuring it out.

    I thought most of the onboard generators were propane?

    My onboard compartment for the genny was replaced with batteries and an inverter before we bought it so I have a basket for the rear hitch and I carry a 3500 propane generator so no petroleum needed

    True that the onboard ones are, but many people either only use their gasoline generators or use them sometimes.
