Math says it can work if you can get the payload on the truck up to around 3,500-4,000 lbs (Sounds like a 3500 SRW).
I'm a huge gasser fan, I would have no problem pulling 10-13k, but just realize that you are towing and things are going to be a little slower on hills. Let the gasser rev and shift where it needs too and get use to turning 4500 plus RPM up hill and while accelerating.
