Is it an Atwood or a Suburban?
Atwood has an adjustable air shutter...sooting is caused by too much fuel/not enough air....open air shutter until flame is BLUE and has a slight roar
Suburban does not have an air shutter...fuel/air ration is dependent on flow os gas thru orifice and system pressure
Clean gas orifice and burner tube
(Soak orifice in alcohol and then blow thru it.no pressured air or poke anything thru it)
Combustion/exhaust chamber needs to be 'chimney sweeped'
Push a wire thru combustion side and out exhaust side...tie rag to wire then pull back thru 'sweeping' debris/nests etc out
Thanks. I adjusted the shutter and sweeped it out. Seamed to help.
