Tesla gets brought up when Tesla fanboys like to bring up emissions because their CEO does not seem to live the "holier than thou" low carbon footprint life style with all those private jet flights and shooting kerosene rockets in the air. If one tout's improving the environment as reason to buying one like Tesla does, then it probably not a good thing to have a leader who emits more CO2 than 90% of the populous. It seems he is a do as I say not as I do like the rest of his zealous fanatics.
However, if Tesla's main and only approach to buying one is better performance like the Hummer then they would probably get a pass from more people for not being so hypocritical.
