Sounds like OP is trying to make a transfer switch.
The common switch points, normally the center, would go to the load. One end set would go to genset, the other would go to the shore power connection.
You can use L2 for the neutral connections.
The grounds would be spliced straight through.
Is your TH a 30 or 50 amp? If it is a fifty amp, this will not work. You would need a three pole or a standard 50 amp RV transfer switch.
What is make and model of switch?
