What you actually need is a SPDT switch. That may be why you're confused. The good news is that the switch you have will work if the line voltage can be split between two poles. I'd suggest to hook a battery to L1 and L2 in parallel and meter A and B poles while operating the switch. You should see power to one pole at a time when operating the switch. Like others said, neutral and ground are connected together outboard of the switch.
You could, possibly, have a marine type installation by using one of the L poles to switch neutral also. I don't know how the poles of the switch are orientated, though.
