- j_p_f_Explorerwhy not invest in a kil-a-watt meter, about $35, and test your air-conditioner.
that would give you a good idea of what it draws.
and if you get a kil-a-watt you will find it useful for many things after using it for the air. - RSD559ExplorerThe Honda EU2000i will put you out about $1000. So make sure it works before you pull the trigger. You can probably rent one to check it out. Another option is the Champion 2000 which will run you about $450 at Walmart.com. Not as quiet, not by much anyway, and it has higher surge power rating. The 2400 watt Yamaha mentioned will run you a little over $1220. You might be able to find one to rent for a few hours to check it out. If your needs grow in the future, you can buy a second one of any of these and run them in parallel and come close to doubling the output. All of these will run forever, if you take care of them. Good luck!

If your window unit only uses 6.5 amps then the Honda EU2000i will handle it...Just don't run a microwave oven at the same time. The Honda EU2000i running spec is 13.5 amps. - ScottGNomadThe Honda eu2000 will easily do that.

I just bought a Starcraft Autumn Ridge 17rd. It has an 8000 btu window unit. Will a Honda 2000 generator run it?
It should but try it as that is the only way to know. The problem with a smaller unit is the surge current more than the continuous current. The surge current will not be listed typically. - RoyBExplorer II

probably, look on the spec label and see how many amps it draws.

Only the ADMIN guys can delete the duplicate post - You can however change the comments - maybe just replace all of your comments with the word duplicate or put some dashes or periods in it...

Roy Ken - Isaac-1ExplorerI agree with the probably, but you may want to look at the Yamaha 2000 V2, or 2400 inverter units.
