I keep and run my Yamaha EF3000iSEB in the bed of my truck. I've been using it that way for years. It's strapped in and locked with a cable. My tailgate locks, so for someone to steal it, they would have to cut the cable and lift it over the tailgate; a difficult task in that it weighs 180 lbs wet. I've never worried about rain and it's been rained on a number of times.
