A correction to your correction. :W Noise figures for Honda gensets, including the EU3000iS are taken at 7 metres or 23 feet. Yeah, I know - Honda did for a time mistakenly publish information that indicated 9 feet but this mistake was later acknowledged and corrected. Believe it, noise measurements are referenced to 23 feet. Honda's EU3000iS is the class leader in noise figures, especially when running at it's lowest ECO mode speed, but it's not so quiet that it could boast figures like that @ 9 feet. Simply impossible.
