I've got a '06 1181, had it since new. I'm 5'11" & 170#, mid 60's and I can get in an out with the slide in no problem! Admittedly, you gotta go in sideways for the most part. We usually open it a couple of inches minimum if we're just wanting to quick get something out of the fridge to take up to the cab or maybe put something in quick. Once we were camped when the wind came up to a sustained 50-60 for 12hours and we closed it up tight because the vinyl that rolls out over the slide was flapping bad and I was concerned it was going to get tore up! Having it closed while inside isn't the best option, but doable unless you're a big guy. Anyhow, if it's only open a inch or two no one is going to notice and unless you're as BIG as Sleepy you should have no trouble getting around. Personally I wouldn't plan to camp that way because the 1181 is so roomy and comfortable when used as intended.
