Hey Sleepy. My thoughts were that the OP was wondering how that nice TC with the rear slide was functional with the slide IN, since the examples that were given were all ones that they said you couldn't or shouldn't have the slide out.
I quoted the 3rd one because it just seemed odd to me that a place would have those kind of 'rules' on how you camped, but I guess it's meant for fishing and not camping?
An RV where the slide hinders the use of it when it's in just didn't seem like a good match with those examples and I was kinda agreeing..
Also your post about there only being about 6" of space when it's closed kinda went along with my thoughts too..

?... the Lance 1181 has one huge slide on the street side of the camper... when the slide is in it is nearly impossible to get through it. It was that way even when I was a lot younger ( I'm on the small size)
At nearly 3/4 of a century old, I know that if I have to go to the bathroom it won't be after I set up the camper... I want to open the door... and releave myself, NOW! Don't be smug and think this won't apply to you... it will if you are lucky enough to get to this point. Looking at the green side of grass is wonderful!
I now notice that you thought this is one of the TC's with a rear slide... on them you'd be correct... when their slide is in it seems to always cover the side intrance door to the camper.
The 1181 the OP is asking about is a very nice camper and so are the rear slide campers made by several manufacturers... they just aren't user friendly for some of us that use our campers everywhere but the RV Parking Lots with hook-ups and very often drunk or obnoxious neighbors.
When you look at campers with an interest in purchasing one make the sales person put the slide(s) in... now make your way all the way forward for a quickie.................... nap! Try to make a sandwich after with the slide in... or get a cold bottle of water...
always
