To the OP, check out that rental trailer real good before leaving the Uhaul shop with it. Unless they've changed, Uhaul in my experience was famous for sending out junk with the customer's only recourse if there was a breakdown is to wait for Uhaul to show up with a replacement and then U Haul your stuff into the new van/trailer on the side of the road.
Rented a car dolly for a x country move one time and the only one they'd give me was with 2 bald tires, one with the cords showing. Refused to put new tires on as long as the ones on it held air and refused to give even one spare tire to go with it.
Let just say about 30 miles later both tires "lost air" at the same time and the Uhaul place near my house put some new skins on it! (Before the trip)
