Giant Recreation World in Fl. Wadda ya think

I've been to GRW in Palm Bay Fl and they seem to be a pretty good dealership. They offer a LIFETIME warrantee as long as you have the rig serviced every year by certified rv maintenance people. Their prices seem to be competitive with other dealerships including CW. They have a camping club thing that twice a month every month they arrange a group camp out. That's only $50 a year to join and they have live entertainment and a free dinner on each trip. Sounds really good. Has anyone had any experience with them and what did you think?
  • sorry, to be more clear, the forever warranty is free as long as you buy from them and the unit is no more than 2 years old. So this year they are covering 2017 and newer which includes used units. They charge $300 a year when they do the maintenence but you dont have to do it there. If you have a shop you like and they do a walk thru and charge $50 then thats good enough. It covers everything except the awning and the slide out components. If they find anything wrong its covered and the periodically seal and lube things. Just sounded like a good deal. Its free except for the yearly fee. Maybe you're right though. I didn't have any problems with my rig until it was about 15 years old. Maybe if I have a maintenance program on it it wouldn't look as bad as it does now.
  • Not your lifetime but the expected lifetime of the RV in most states.
  • There is no such thing as a free lunch, and no such thing as a "warranty forever" either. It's nothing more than a revenue generator for the service department.
  • Lifetime warranties, at least ime, are a joke from the consumer standpoint and a moneymaker for the provider. Like gbopp said, read that doc Closely. And a warranty is only as good as the guy/company backing it. In my years on this world, I have seen a lot of 'lifetime warranties' not honored.
  • I can't comment on GRW in general. But the LIFETIME warranty is probably not what you expect.
You may end up paying a lot of money every year doing maintenance they feel is necessary.
Ask for a copy of the LIFETIME warranty, read it before you make a decision.
