If US Pickups are so great, why not sell them to Asia,Australia , Latin America, Australia and New Zealand. Market is huge 2.3 Million vehicles All they have to do is make them Diesels, LHD or RHD. A lot cheaper than having new ones developed. Surely there would be huge market waiting for HD Pickups as well as 1/2 tons?? Plenty of space to park them,
Most around the world do not like the size of our vehicles just as most in the US/Canada do not like the size of these global trucks. That is just our culture whether you like it or not. Just because they don't sell them in New Zealand because the culture there would rather have smaller trucks does not mean the US trucks are bad. It just means that they prefer smaller trucks due to their culture.
If you look around the world you will see many countries have smaller vehicles in general. Why is this? Well, it goes back a long ways and if you did your research then you will find that one of the major factors is tax. Many countries used to and some still do have a Displacement Tax meaning you were taxed every year on your vehicle based on its engine displacement. The more displacement your engine had then the more you were taxed for it. This has lead to smaller vehicles with smaller engines in many of these countries along with their roadways since having an engine with over 3.0L of displacement meant you were wealthy.
Many countries have moved to emissions as a way to tax vehicle owners which also makes larger engines cost more. With these kind of taxes, the large displacement engines found in our full sized trucks would be a pretty hefty tax. Other countries have finally abolished displacement tax, but the public was already used to these small vehicles with the small engines by the time that they did making anything bigger then what they have a bit odd.
There are other things to like fuel prices in many of these countries versus the US and Canada. These big trucks are thirsty, and in other countries the fuel bill would literally eat you out of house and home. Here, with our relatively low fuel costs coupled with our economy, it is not that big of a pinch in the wallet compared to other places. These are just one of many reasons why they don't sell well in other countries and I implore you to research why instead of just making a comment like "if they are so great they why don't they sell well everywhere else".
Also, I guess that is a no on you showing me a "global" dual cab with a pick up bed that has 3,000 lbs payload and tows 8,000 lbs like you posted earlier?
