I couldn't see U.S. trucks being popular in Europe for a lot of reasons, fuel price, road size being two. I could just see my 22' long truck in a small Italian village (not).
I use to drive a small truck around town and to work and back because it was so nimble. I darn sure would not want to pull a 5er with a midsize.
Americans love their living room on wheels or at least I do. Nothing beats them on a cross country trip.
It sounds like your happy with the offerings of your country as well.
