Bill Gates doesn't believe that wind, solar, or battery backup will replace fossil fuels either. Other videos I have seen, he promotes nuclear, which as much as I don't prefer it, seems to be the only viable solution in addition to the wind and solar. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xe3BWPsBTU
I have seen many scientists that state co2 is at the lowest point in the worlds history. Millions of years ago, it was many times higher, and the average temperature was 16 degree C higher than present. Life on earth survived it then, it will survive any minor changes now. I totally believe in using electric vehicles where ever possible, and reducing pollution to help air quality. I just don't see the extreme urgency. Let the market dictate what happens. Clearly there are some big fans of the EV technology. That is quite apparent by the passion people seem to show for their EVs. I don't know why the doom and gloom crowd have to yell and scream the world is ending. It clearly isn't, and in due time we will evolve into whatever system wins the race. I personally would like to see something figured out with storage of nuclear waste. Bill Gates says they are working on a reactor that runs off the old style generators waste. That would be a good start.
