Update:
After 1 week of driving with the dye, oil only reappeared on the filter just like most of us expected. They claimed the filter was tight when first checked and was still tight today. They are making an assumption that the filter didn't seal for some reason such as warping of the filter or manufacturing issue or such. The filter was replaced and will be rechecked in a couple weeks.
I really hoped that it was a filter or installer issue and feel that was indeed the problem. I don't expect to see any oil when rechecked later.
