I can say that the 6 speed 6.0 will pull. I have run as high as 16K with 3.73's at 6-7K feet and I thought it handled the weight well (these were equipment trailers without the wind drag of an RV). My current 6.0 has 4.10's and I have not pulled over 12k with it yet but I like this trucks ability even more than the 2012 3.73's so far. The tranny seems more smooth than the '12. I am a fan of the 6.0 while it is no Duramax, for the money it pulls very well.
