I'm not opposed to EV's. We (usually) do most of our driving within 80 miles of home.
If the range increases and the price drops maybe I'll consider one.
My concern is the affect it will have on electricity. I'm sure we will start with a mileage tax, which would be fair for EV's.
But, I'm also sure, it will quickly evolve to all vehicles regardless of fuel type in addition to the current gas tax.
Then the politicians will realize they can get more money by taxing everyone on electricity for EV's. That way everyone can pay for the road maintenance.
So, your electric bills will go up even if you don't drive or own a vehicle.

I've often wondered it back in 1900 when electric cars were common, where we would be if the battery technology advanced as quickly as ICE's?
