A camping friend from Maryland has a 2006 Chevy and he too had to replace all the brake lines. Look at your receiver, his was rusted and cracked and ready to fail.
Never buy a used vehicle from Maryland, they are insane with the salt.
Yep, receiver was replaced when I bought the truck...I replaced it with a nice Curt hitch. The factory one was indeed cracked. I have sanded most of the frame and sealed with Rustoleum undercoating, I won't be able to get it all, but I can slow it down.
