Most will give you a time frame to buy in if you don't right at the sale...maybe 30 days, or 60 days.
Several years ago I bought a new Toyota. They wanted to sell me an extended warranty. But, I had to purchase it immediately.
125,000 trouble free miles later, it's still running as good as the day we brought it home. And it still looks very good.
I'm glad I didn't fall for their sales pitch, which I felt was a waste of money.
